How do you like your pizza sliced? Well it really depends on your situation. If you’re cooking a Giovanni’s pizza to sell in a concession setting, a 12” thin crust pizza should be sliced into 4 slices. That makes it a Jumbo Slice! If you’re cooking a Giovanni’s 12” Rising Crust Pizza, they can be cut into 4 or 6 slices.
If you are cooking one of Giovanni’s 14” Large rising crust pizzas, The pizza can be sliced into 1/8ths or 1/6ths. Our rising crust pizzas have a raised edge which gives them a more appealing physical look for a slice of a smaller size.
However, when it comes to enjoying a traditional 12” Giovanni’s thin crust pizza, we have to recommend that you cut it into squares. (“sorry slice lovers, but there’s a method to this madness”)
We slice our pizzas into squares by cutting 3 times straight across, turn it 90 degrees and cut 3 more times straight across.
Now you have several squares with a variety of characteristics. The outer pieces will have the crispy edge, the middle pieces will be just cheese and toppings all around, and there will be several very small outside pieces for those who just want a small nibble! When you slice it into slices, you don’t have all those choices!
So slice it into squares, and there will be something for everyone! Then, when you get to that last square, you can all sit around politely, look at each other, and pretend that you don’t need to grab it! Good luck with that!
