While the number of pizza toppings can be overwhelming sometimes, we all know that there are occasions when, if you enjoy meat, you just want a pizza where it’s the main ingredient. It’s a craving that almost anyone can feel from time to time, and we know how to get the job done to satisfy that itch.
Meat toppings have come a long way in the past years, too. No longer do lovers of meat pizza have to subjected to the same old staples of pepperoni, sausage and so on. Instead, a whole new suite of potential ingredients has emerged that will give you your daily dose of protein with an amazing splash of flavors and textures that will keep you guessing. We’ve outlined some of our favorite toppings below, but Giovanni’s Frozen Pizzas is always working on new ideas for our customers:
· Bacon: While the bacon madness of the past decade might finally be starting to wane, it remains a wonderful choice when you’re thinking of ideas for meat pizzas. Crumbled bacon can be added to just about everything to give it an extra kick, and it will leave everyone at your table with their mouths watering. It can also be a worthwhile endeavor to experiment with different ways of cooking—some of our customers report that grilling, baking, smoking or just that old standby of frying can create entirely different flavor profiles that will greatly change the tastes of their pies.
· Ham: Ham is one of those choices that can be skipped over for pizzas, since many people just did not have it growing up. It’s been on Hawaiian pizzas for generations, but that’s really the most exposure that many American customers have to it. This is not one to overlook, though. You can really add a juicy and salty flavor to any pizza recipe by introducing ham to the mix. It pairs nicely with green olives, bell peppers and, of course, pineapple. It also is versatile enough to work nicely with thick or thin crust pizzas, and is one of our favorite toppings for a meat pizza.
· Chicken: Another choice that isn’t always the first one on the minds of diners, chicken can really add a lot to your next pizza pie. Buffalo chicken is a staple at most American pizzerias, and remains a great favorite, often paired with something like blue cheese crumbles or ranch dressing on the side. You can also add barbecue sauce to give it some more pizzazz, and a recipe that’s gaining popularity includes chicken, ranch, mozzarella and bell peppers. Jalapenos can also be thrown into the mix if you like more of a kick.
Pizza options are quite literally endless, and the experimentation is a huge part of the fun that goes into working in the kitchen. Ideas for meat pizza can really span the entire spectrum of meat flavors, and you can really have some great choices on your hands, especially if you think about the other ingredients that can really make the meat stand out.
